Skills for Life

We help young people gain the skills they need to shine bright

We aim to give Young People #Skills for Life – just ask Sir David Attenborough, David Beckham, Andy Murray, Neil Armstrong, Tim Peake, Steven Spielberg, Barack Obama – all former Scouts, now all very well known.

Welcome to 2nd Stubbington

The 2nd Stubbington (Holy Rood) Scout Group was formed in 1974 and moved to our purpose built Hall on Titchfield Road in the mid 1980s.

Today Scouting is more relevant than ever. We look after around 60 Young people every week – but we need adult help to deliver the programme. This includes many activities such as the joy and excitement of being outdoors as well as many other valuable skills which the children can learn, leading to growth in their independence. Being proud of their achievements through gaining badges which they have earned is still central to the movement.

According to the Chief Scout Bear Grylls, ‘Scouting provides a second family to lots of young people. It’s a safe place where they can aspire and grow… a practical community who will encourage and support you…enjoying the great adventures and helping others to do the same.’
